![]() Artist's Statement
Riding on a Harley is such a wonderful, invigorating experience!
(Especially if you're as lucky as I am to have such a great driver.)
Your senses come alive.
You become hyper-aware of all the sights, sounds, and smells around you.
As you breathe it all in your worries seem to slip away as fast as the scenery.
My photos are always taken "on-the-fly" they are never staged -
that would spoil the moment as well as the mood of the art.
With my camera, and then my pastels,
I work to capture the look and feel of the moment -
the experience!
For days and weeks I will stand at my art table,
listening to classic rock on the radio
painting and blending the rich pigments of the pastels
until I feel I have recreated an experience that will allow...
...those who have never ridden, to understand,
those who have forgotten, to remember,
those who miss it, to relive it,
and those who love it, to enjoy!
